Uechi Ryu Karate:

Uechi Ryu is a traditional Okinawan karate style, which originated in southern China. An in-fighting style, this system is characterized by low kicks, elbow, palm and knee strikes, as well as circular blocks. Conditioning, such as arm, leg, and body toughening, is also emphasized in this karate style. Because there are only 8 kata (forms), constant refinement is key.
Though a very practical self-defense system in itself, Uechi Ryu classes are combined with Kali (Filipino weapons system), to deal with the reality of knife, stick, machete, fire arms, and other types of weapons.
Combat Kali:

Also referred to as Arnis, or eskrima, this Filipino weapons art is a total combat system which utilizes hitting, punching, kicking, take-downs, ground fighting, grappling and counter grappling. Students train with weapons first, and then learn how to apply the same principles without the weapon in hand. Kali is the only martial art where everything one does with the weapon, one can do without the weapon. Our school focuses on a several systems of Kali, including Trancada Aldabon (a close-range combat system), and Kali Illustrisimo. Martial artists from a myriad of styles have found kali to be the perfect complement to their practice.
